The Alamo Area Woodcarvers, founded in 1974, is a club whose membership consists of woodcarvers and those who enjoy an appreciation of working with wood. A person must be 18 and 0lder to become a member.
The club?s objective is to provide an organization of fellowship in which there exists an exchange and sharing of ideas, patterns, and techniques of woodcarving. The club is dedicated to developing and perpetuating an interest in and appreciation of the art form. Members display their work in shows and galleries throughout SanAntonio and other parts of Texas. Some shows are entered by the club and on such occasions members are encouraged to display their carvings.
